Seeking the Centre, identifying the Core of your being - this is the meaning
of Centricity. Call that Centre the soul, essence, heart or spirit, but it
is in the Centre that strength is found and sustained. If the Centre is weak,
then so too is the body. If what should be tightly interlocked is loosely
coupled, then we have a shaky wheel.
What is your life built on and around? What is at the Centre?
Consider
for a moment what men are prone to put in the centre of their lives:
·
Money
·
Power
·
Career
But what happens when our wealth is taken from us?
What happens when we lose our power? At home, work, church?
What happens when our career plans are arrested mid-flight?

| "If the part of the
dough offered as firstfruits is holy, then the whole batch is holy; if
the root is holy, so are the branches. If some of the branches have
been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in
among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root,
do not boast over those branches. If you do,
consider this: You do not support the root, but the
root supports you." (Romans 11:16-18 NIV) |
"I am the vine; you are
the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him,
he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does
not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers;
such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you
remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it
will be given you. This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit,
showing yourselves to be my disciples." (John 15:5-8 NIV)

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but
be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and
approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will." (Romans
12:2 NIV)
